Spiritual Mile

Everyone’s heard of the green mile, eight mile, and talking a mile, But, have you ever heard of the spiritual mile? It’s the longest mile that many are afraid walking, Because it requires more faith than it does talking, Now we lay down for the deepest sleep, Holding your hand and pray you keep, If we should pass before we wake, I know dear GOD it was too late! Many were raised in the church listening to a pastor, Hoping and praying that the sermon ends faster, Not understanding revelations disaster, Not digesting what actually being taught, In Sunday school, Beyond the praise and worship, Did we actually listen to the preacher and the elders’ divine testimony? I know we can remember the benediction! What’s missing? Eyes to listen and ears to see, The foundation for a spiritual mile was laid out but, nonexistent to me, Steadily walking everywhere, Ending up nowhere, Same ole empty stare, Same ole empty soul, Looking at the light but, stuck in a dark hole, Feet hurt, Heart neglected, Head down, feeling dejected, So called friends always misdirected, Looking in mirror for answers at what is being reflected, We need a pick us up to stand firm and erected, Walking the spiritual mile daily will definitely correct it, Lord what is happening? Unexplained weather, Families in disarray, It’s a shame to be a victim of a crime, But, the incarcerated have rights, a warm bed, and three meals a day, Sky high divorce rate, Women to women and men to men, Can someone out there say? Sodom and Gomorrah again!! Remember history repeats itself, But, GOD explains, As the cross was stained, And revelations rains, So is the life you’re living worthwhile? If not why don’t you try GOD and the spiritual mile? Because if you can run your mouth than you can run your feet, Chase GOD and make your life complete…… DMK 08/26/11
